What If Your Passions Aren’t a Distraction… But the Path?

Christine Kama

For years, I thought I had to pick one thing.

One title. One passion. One lane.

I told myself that once I finally chose, everything would fall into place — clarity, success, peace. But the truth was, the more I tried to narrow myself, the more disconnected I felt.

I loved writing, sewing, organizing, coaching, creating, dreaming.
But I thought those passions were distractions — a sign that I wasn’t “serious enough” to know my purpose.

Until one day, it hit me:

What if my many passions aren’t pulling me away from my purpose…
What if they are the path?

Maybe our purpose isn’t one thing we find — maybe it’s the way we live.

The way we weave together the different parts of us.
The way we show up with curiosity, wonder, and soul.
The way we keep becoming.

If you’ve ever felt ashamed of your many interests, this is your reminder:

- You’re not scattered. You’re multidimensional.
- Your passions are not a distraction. They are clues.
- Your purpose might be layered, living, evolving — and that’s beautiful.

So stop trying to shrink yourself. Your fullness is your brilliance.
