Speaking, Even When It Shakes

Speaking, Even When It Shakes

Christine Kama

There’s something strange about the world we live in.

Everyone seems to know.
Everyone seems to have an answer.

If you want this, do that.
If you want to succeed, follow this path.

From morning to night, the moment we open our phones, we’re exposed to lives that look clear, controlled, and linear.

But life doesn’t look like that.

It’s made of detours.
Of hesitation.
Of imperfection.

And most of all… of quiet progress that no one shows.

Moving beyond the illusion of perfection

We’re shown the results.

Rarely the doubts.
Rarely the pauses.
Rarely the moments of not knowing.

And yet, that’s where everything happens.

In those invisible spaces.
In those uncertainties.
In those moments when we move forward without clarity.

That’s also why this space exists.

To make room for what is real.
For what trembles.
For what isn’t finished yet.

The comfort of staying hidden

There’s a resistance that keeps returning.

The urge to stay in control.
To stay within what feels ordered.
To not show too much.

Because in the shadows, there is comfort.

You’re not judged.
You’re not exposed.
You don’t have to explain.

But that comfort comes at a cost.

The cost of your freedom.
The cost of not following your ideas through.
The cost of never seeing where something could have taken you.

Moving forward without certainty

So you move.

Sometimes you pause.
Sometimes you step back.

But you keep going anyway.

Little by little.

And in that imperfect movement, something shifts.

You learn.
About yourself.
About others.

You begin to see that others doubt too.
That others question themselves.
That others move forward… despite it all.

What truly connects us

It’s not perfect answers that connect us.

It’s:

the detours
the hesitation
the moments we fall
and the ones where we choose to rise again

That’s where something opens.

A space where we recognize ourselves.
Where we quietly think: “me too.”

Building as you go

We often believe we need to be ready.

To have a plan.
A clear vision.
A defined direction.

But that’s not how it works.

A project isn’t fully thought through before it begins.
It is built while walking.

By trying.
By adjusting.
By continuing.

Maybe you don’t need to know everything.

Maybe you don’t need to be ready.

Maybe all you need…is permission to keep going.

Between the lines

There is a quiet strength in speaking… even when it shakes.

Not when everything is clear.
Not when everything is controlled.

But precisely when it isn’t.

To say:

I don’t know yet but I’m moving

Because that’s where life happens.

Not in the result.
Not in perfection.

But in motion.

And you…

What are you holding back because you don’t feel ready?

What could you begin if you allowed yourself to move forward… even while trembling?
